Money can sometimes hold some very negative connotations. Wanting to acquire money can hold a stereotype that you are greedy or selfish.
LaShawne Holland, Owner, and Founder of Holland & Holland Enterprises, a financial development and wealth education company, is here to shatter those myths.
Wanting to be able to live comfortably, pay your bills on time, and provide for your family should never be goals that are looked down on.
And Holland wants everyone to know they were “born to multiply.”
Holland has set out to help people understand their finances, realize real ways that they are able to grow their wealth, and make their money work for them, and not the other way around.
Two of Holland’s top tips for successfully growing your wealth are putting yourself first, and owning your value. But it’s not always an easy road ahead.
Putting yourself first can be the most challenging task. According to Holland, our generation finds it the hardest because we have always been told to put everyone else’s needs ahead of our own.
Knowing your value can also be difficult. It’s often easy to take any opportunity you are given, whether in your business deals, or salary negotiations, and be told to be grateful for what you are getting.
Holland wants to shut those myths down as well.
“Everybody was born with a purpose, everybody has a gift.
Holland often says you cannot give from an empty cup. So if you are taking some time for yourself to grow your business, and in turn your wealth, you should never feel ashamed of that, but embrace it.
The same goes for knowing your value. Holland stresses that business deals are always two-way streets, they need to equally beneficial for all parties involved. Holland knows the value she brings to the table, and never settles for less. And she wants you to do the same. Recognize your value, know exactly what you’re worth, and what you bring to the table.
Never feel ashamed for wanting to grow your wealth. Never feel ashamed for putting yourself first. And never feel ashamed for knowing your value and refusing to settle for less. Your business and wealth will only grow because of it.
